  1. FREESTYLE for WORD (Version 1.1)

  3. INTRODUCTION

  5. FreeSTYLE is an add-on program that builds on Microsoft's use of 
  6. styles to radically improve the way you work with Word. 
  7.  
  8. FreeSTYLE offers 4 main areas of advantage:

  10. 1. Improved structuring (eg consistency & ease-of-use across all documents)
  11. 2. Improved formatting (eg instantly reformat your entire document)
  12. 3. Improved navigation (eg jump instantly to any defined content or text) 
  13. 4. Improved document handling (eg handle multiple versions from the same file)

  15. FreeSTYLE puts you in complete control of your documents and the content 
  16. they contain. By marking content and taking control, you can put the 
  17. sense into - and get the sense back out of - all the documents you 
  18. create. FreeSTYLE has been designed to deliver on the Microsoft promise of
  19. "information at your fingertips".

  24. THE FREESTYLE TEMPLATE
  25.  
  26. The power of FreeSTYLE is available to all your documents through a 
  27. single, easily-installed Word template, FSTYLE.DOT. This offers its 
  28. own menu, control and shortcuts in addition to WordÆs own functionality.
  29. Word's normal working practice is left unaffected.  The program works 
  30. on English language versions of Microsoft Word for Windows from version 
  31. 6.0 to version 8.0 (and so crossing the Windows 3.1/95 divide).

  33. INSTALLING FREESTYLE
  34.  
  35. The easiest way to install FreeSTYLE is to:
  36.  
  37. 1. Copy all the FreeSTYLE files into their own subdirectory.
  38. 2. Load Word and open the INSTALL.DOC file
  39.    (some virus checkers and Word 97 will first check that you really do
  40.    want to load the file and enable macros)
  41. 3. Double-click the Install FreeSTYLE / Check Installation command button
  42.    (this will copy the FSTYLE.DOT template into your Word startup directory)

  44. USING FREESTYLE
  45.  
  46. Because FreeSTYLE is installed as a global template it will 
  47. automatically load whenever you run Word. To use FreeSTYLE with a 
  48. file, the program must first copy over its styles and various internal 
  49. settings. The program will offer to do this automatically when you 
  50. select any FreeSTYLE command. If the file has not yet been saved, you 
  51. will be asked to save it so that FreeSTYLE can proceed.

  56. CONDITIONS OF USE
  57.  
  58. This is a fully working evaluation version of FreeSTYLE for 
  59. Microsoft Word for Windows. There are no limitations in terms of 
  60. functionality or length of use, but if you regularly use the program 
  61. you will be reminded to register. To permanently use FreeSTYLE you 
  62. must register this evaluation version. Registration costs US$30 or 
  63. UKú18 + VAT.

  91. friends so long as you do not alter the FSTYLE.DOT, FSMANUAL.DOC and
